JESUS SAYS "WHEN YOU PRAY SAY:
1. Our father who art in heaven.
MEANING: - Recognize God as your father not a slave master. See yourself as His son and relate with him as son not a slave.
2. Hallow be thy name.
MEANING: - Give respect to His name.
REMEMBER: A Yoruba man will never call his father a name But reverence him as father. How did Jesus refer to God hen he was on earth? God or Father?
3. Thy kingdom come.
MEANING: - Let His kingdom be within you and exercise His authority over everything. Yes. I say everything. Remember you are a king and He is a King of King.
4. Thy will be done on earth has it His in heaven.
MEANING: - The food of God is that you do His will on earth as the angels do in heaven. Remember when you CONSTANTLY DO HIS WILL he will surely give you your desires.
5. Give us this day our daily bread.
MEANING: - Man is made of spirit, soul and body. Your spirit needs the word of God to grow and your soul also. Your body need physical food and many good things of life. Let us pray that God should supply all these.
6. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
MEANING: - Learn to forgive so that God will forgive you.
7. Lead us not into temptation.
MEANING: - Temptation is never a sin but giving yourself to it will not allow you to go higher level. REMEMBER: Joseph and his master’s wife, Jesus Christ and Satan, Job and Satan and also remember how Samson fell into temptation of Philistine woman.
8. Deliver us from evil.
MEANING: - God should deliver us from false witness, Satan, world and flesh and we should also flew from all appearance of evil. It would really help us.
9. For Tine is thy kingdom, power and glory forever Amen.
MEANING: - All power, glory and kingdom belong to God. Amen.
